#REVIEW || MTN Project Fame West Africa 7.0

I want to discuss discuss and rant about the just concluded PFAME. As I type this, my mind is asking, "But aunty, this thing no concern you before o" but my Oversabi fingers don nearly type finish so there's nothing I can do. Well, it's The Way Esther Sees It sha so here goes nothing.

First and foremost, can MTN and Ultima studios stop leaving the fates of these contestants in the hands of viewers? I mean, why do they pay the judges so much and then leave unnecessarily sentimental viewers to toy with the fates of talents. I don't know of other countries o, but I think Nigerians are not cut out for this voting stunt, we are just one kain people.
I was talking about voting one time and someone said, "Abeg I'm not voting for Geoffrey. He's too full of himself." So in my mind I was thinking she probably knew him personally, so I asked if she knew him, and she was like, "no na! From the way he sings, you will know that he's a proud boy." See ehn, the urge to stuff hot eba in her ears and foam in her mouth was so strong... How TF do you know a person is full of himself from the way he sings? Na charisma naim she call pride so?
After results were announced, I went online... Omo, see comments. that day ehn, I confirmed that most Nigerians are just bunch of ignorant people with smartphones and technology. They kept going, "Oh Emeka was better than Geoffrey and all the other winners. He's such such a humble lad, he'd have made Nigerian music industry proud." and I kept wondering, when did humility become a talent? No doubts, Emeka is good, but do you really want to compare him to Geoffrey? Maybe if Geoffrey or Christian or Clement were not on the show, yeah, he would be my favourite contestant. But then who votes for humility over talent in a competition like this? Shebi it's humility they voted for and Olawale won last season... what has he brought to our ears other than mess, sh** and piss?

Secondly, the betrayals and strife in that Academy! Lord knows other years combined had as much quarrels and betrayals as this year. Flourish had issues with practically everyone in the house; little wonder Ame thinks she's a Benin girl.
Oh! The back stabbings... Kai! I get it was a competition o, but Yours Truly, most of the fights were unnecessary... all the solidarities and cliques formed were tiring and unnecessary.
Then the betrayals! Hahaha!! Remember that Oge cried the day David left? Well she voted for Emeka instead of him... then why did she cry? Then from Shola voting for Lasbrey over his puppy-eyed lover, Debbie, to our very own Ugo smoking Shola out... I loved the drama in the house this year sha.

Thirdly, am I the only one who thinks they were less strict this season? Plus they did too many Nigerian songs and it was tiring. In previous seasons, duets were like the most risky part of the Academy cos somebody's stay was dependent on the other's performance. But this season, the duets were yama yama. The contestants knew they had nothing to "lose" anymore so they were just singing rubbish and nonsense. For example, Ugo and Debbie's rendition of Girlie O remix *sighs* I already had issues with the original remix and then those two came and ruined every iota of respect I had for that song.

Lastly, I need to commend whoever was in charge of wardrobe. That person/ group of people was/ were ahmazing especially with Bolanle Olukanni. I don't think there was anything she wore all season that I didn't drool over.

So with that out of the way, MTN and Ultima Studios, please let Ade Bantu and co do the job you paid them for. Let them put the contestants that didn't impress them on probation and do the elimination on their own. Please and please, leave Nigerians out of this. Leave us to relax, watch and enjoy the show in our homes. We are not cut out for voting yet, we have 2015 elections on our minds right now.
Plus, scrap that Wildcard competition thingy... it's totally unnecessary.

    1. Lool... I taya for us o!!
Right now, the same voters are crying foul play!! They said their votes were manipulated... so is it not better they keep their votes in their pockets and let seasoned musicians or people who know what music is judge?

So I watched the finals and I agree Gofrey can sing abeg. You know yesterday I was telling my Mum about how I met an influential person at an event and he was so humble. Mehn my Mom wasn't evn nice when she heard 'humble' she said I should even start, that humble has nothing to do with it, she said humble people tend to be fake and ruthless and she used her boss as an example, babe I just sharrap straight!

  8. Oh dear esther, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. If nigerians wanna vote based on humility, then its their choice bcos the organizers allowed it (MTN wanna make more money). Geoffrey was consistent all through the competition but he was never my favourite (no ill feelings). I wanted clement or christian to win. I felt clement was better than geoffrey. Emeka fits into the nigerian music industry reason for the large fan base who couldn't vote for him.

BTW, I share your views on olawale and about being less strict this season. I noticed the back stabbings too.

PS: its a competition so anybody can be compared to anybody. Therefore Geo can be compared to emeka or any other contestants.

In other news, its my 1st time here. Nice blog u've gat.
